Why a Career Break?
After 10 years working in the Civil Service, I am ready for a long break, do the typical mid-20's finding of myself and try to answer the question 'what do I want to be when I am older?'.
What's the plan?
The rough plan is to start in Australia, travling up the east coast before hoping over to New Zealand and then working my way thought Southeast Asia — Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines — before working my way down through Thailand and finishing up in Japan. Beyond that there's no fixed itinerary: flights and stays are booked a few weeks at a time, leaving room to stay longer somewhere I love, or move on early from somewhere I don't. I'll be posting updates, photos and the odd lesson learned the hard way as I go.
